The Banana Bowls are unique stand-alone pieces that reference Cain’s more confronting work which consists of ceramic urinals filled with bananas (Fruit Bowl). These playful works elude to themes of shame, anonymity and sexuality, but in a way that can be viewed as whimsical and light-hearted. Visually keeping everything simple and clean with a shiny white glaze.
